Softball Recap: Rushville Lions vs. East Central Trojans
Rushville extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They came up short against the East Central Trojans, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 two weeks ago.
Heidi Stanley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those hits were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Macy Blevins, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
As for East Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games.
On East Central's side, Rose Yunger looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
