Recap: North Mustangs vs. Chandler Wolves

It was a good run, but the North Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 58-46 to Chandler. North has not had much luck with Chandler recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

North's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Xxylina Flores, who scored 21 points along with six steals, and Saniyah Downing who scored 15 points along with seven steals. Flores has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played.

North struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

North bumped their record down to 9-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Chandler, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Maryvale at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Maryvale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while North is ranked 115th). Chandler won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hamilton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
