Softball Game Preview: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Briarwood Christian Lions

The Sylacauga Aggies will take on the Briarwood Christian Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Neither Sylacauga nor Briarwood Christian posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Thursday, Sylacauga came up short against Fayetteville and fell 5-2. The Aggies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sylacauga saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alaina Bryant, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Briarwood Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Central of Clay County last Tuesday and fell 2-1.

Briarwood Christian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16-1 record this season. As for Sylacauga, their loss dropped their record down to 11-17.

Everything went Sylacauga's way against Briarwood Christian when the teams last played on April 8th, as Sylacauga made off with an 8-2 victory. Will the Aggies repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
