Volleyball Recap: Servite Comes Up Short

If Servite was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Orange Lutheran last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Friars fell just short of the Santa Margarita Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Friars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Servite took Santa Margarita into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 15-13.

Servite has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-18 record this season. As for Santa Margarita, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 23-8.

Servite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Margarita, they will head out to challenge St. Margaret's at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
