Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

Roosevelt is 8-2 against Mountain View since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Roosevelt Roughriders will host the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roosevelt has five straight victories, Mountain View has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Roosevelt will bounce into Friday's match after beating Greeley Central, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Roosevelt simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Greeley Central 63-28. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 35 points or more this season.

Ryanne Bahnsen-Price continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Payton Terry, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mountain View played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Thompson Valley, falling 57-13. The matchup marked the Mountain Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Roosevelt against Mountain View in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 73-30 victory. Does Roosevelt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
