Preview: Eaton Reds vs. Resurrection Christian Cougars
Eaton is 9-1 against Resurrection Christian since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eaton Reds will be playing at home against the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Eaton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
On Wednesday, Eaton ended up a good deal behind University and lost 53-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eaton has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Eaton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Delaney Reuter, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Kara Sidwell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Resurrection Christian gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-23 win at home. The win was nothing new for Resurrection Christian as they're now sitting on five straight.
Resurrection Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mackenzie Flikkema, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds, and Olivia Klein, who scored 25 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Klein has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bethany Vrooman, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Resurrection Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Eaton was able to grind out a solid win over Resurrection Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 66-59. Does Eaton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Resurrection Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
