Basketball Game Preview: MacArthur Cardinals vs. Lakeview Centennial Patriots

The MacArthur Cardinals will face off against the Lakeview Centennial Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Lakeview Centennial likes a good challenge.

MacArthur had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 24-point drubbing they dealt Arlington on Tuesday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 64-40 margin over the Colts. While the Cardinals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Lakeview Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to Martin on the road by a 75-59 margin.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Lakeview Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

MacArthur couldn't quite finish off Lakeview Centennial in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 53-51. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
