Monte Vista Christian is 0-5 against Seaside since November of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. Last Friday, Monte Vista Christian strolled past North Monterey County with points to spare, taking the game 42-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

It was another big night for Dominic Pierini, who threw for 437 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Nico Downie was Pierini's top target, picking up 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Monte Vista Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Max Torres, Brady Cortez, and Downie picked up one apiece. Meanwhile, a victory for Seaside just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were dealt a 50-7 defeat at the hands of Alisal. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Monte Vista Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Seaside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
