Volleyball Recap: Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans vs. Rochester Falcons
Sterling Heights Stevenson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Rochester Falcons. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2017.
Sterling Heights Stevenson was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.
Kaylee Oliver paced Sterling Heights Stevenson's offense, picking up six kills. Oliver got some help from Emelina Alesevic and her 13 assists. Delaney Clark controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Sterling Heights Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-28. As for Rochester, their win bumped their record up to 11-23.
Sterling Heights Stevenson and Rochester could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Titans (ranked 465th) will meet Marysville (ranked 73rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rochester will take on Bloomfield Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (211 vs. 4).
