Basketball Recap: Blair County Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Blair County Christian came into Friday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Bedford County CIA Agents by a score of 44-31 on Friday. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Agents, too.

Blair County Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathan Marucci led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. With that strong performance, Marucci is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hileman, who posted nine points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Despite the loss, Bedford County CIA still got an impressive performance from Silas Gorczyca, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Gorczyca is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Gorczyca, who posted 11 points.

Blair County Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Bedford County CIA, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Blair County Christian will welcome Johnstown Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Bedford County CIA, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.
