Recap: Durango Demons vs. Lewis-Palmer Rangers

The Durango Demons were the 41-30 winner over the Lewis-Palmer Rangers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Durango falling 43-24. They found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.

Durango's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mariah Maestas, who scored 9 points, and Tyler Trujillo who scored 12 points. Trujillo scored a full 50% of Durango's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Lewis-Palmer was led to victory by Brooke Thompson and Kendall Lane. Thompson scored 6 points, while Lane scored 8 points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Blakesley, who scored 2 points.

Durango has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Lewis-Palmer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Durango's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cheyenne Mountain at 10:00 a.m. on December 9th. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will square off against Vista PEAK Prep at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
