Football Recap: Waltham Comes Up Short

The Waltham Hawks were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 19-14 to the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners.

Waltham dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Waltham and Peabody Veterans Memorial will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Hawks see the field they'll take on Arlington at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, their break will end when they face Saugus at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
