Basketball Game Preview: Muskogee Roughers vs. Putnam City West Patriots

The Muskogee Roughers will head out to square off against the Putnam City West Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Muskogee came up short against Union on Tuesday, falling 65-40. While losing is never fun, the Roughers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Redhawks are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Putnam City West lost to Westmoore on the road by a 81-66 margin on Tuesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Muskogee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Putnam City West, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Muskogee skirted past Putnam City West 72-70 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Muskogee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
