After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Conestoga Valley, Ephrata was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 20-14 W over the Elizabethtown Bears. The Mountaineers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Ephrata got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Knowles out in front who rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 60 yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 51 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Bentley Rearich, who rushed for 102 yards and one score.

Despite the defeat, Elizabethtown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Prince Wratto rushed for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 46 receiving yards.

Ephrata's record now sits at 4-1. As for Elizabethtown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Ephrata has already played their next matchup, a 24-0 defeat against Exeter Township on the 26th. As for Elizabethtown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-21 loss against Muhlenberg on the 26th.
