Cedar Bluffs and East Butler are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cedar Bluffs and Mead, and Mead kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Cedar Bluffs actually scored more points across those three sets (66-63), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 13-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, East Butler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Lyons-Decatur Northeast, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-16, 25-14.

East Butler's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Cedar Bluffs, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Cedar Bluffs was able to grind out a solid win over East Butler when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
