Softball Recap: Rehobeth Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Rehobeth lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wicksburg, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Rebels put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 15-5 win on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Panthers last Saturday, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

AG Massey spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maddie Williams was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazzy Andrews, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Rehobeth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wicksburg only posted an OBP of .259.

Rehobeth's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-14-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wicksburg, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 35-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Rehobeth by a score of 9-1 on Friday.
