Basketball Game Preview: Rivercrest Colts vs. Marked Tree Indians

The Rivercrest Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Marked Tree Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Rivercrest's tournament run continued when they took on Brookland on Friday. Rivercrest lost to Brookland on the road by a 64-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Bearcats are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Marked Tree's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Tuckerman. The matchup marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Marked Tree's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Rivercrest, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Rivercrest lost to Marked Tree on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin in their previous meeting back in November. Can Rivercrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
