Baseball Game Preview: Goldthwaite Eagles vs. Bartlett Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Goldthwaite will face off against Bartlett. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Goldthwaite heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Bartlett by a score of 6-4.

Isak Rainlend put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Rainlend was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Rainlend wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aidyn Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Bartlett is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Goldthwaite, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
