Basketball Recap: Aucilla Christian Warriors vs. Eagle's View Warriors
The Aucilla Christian Warriors were the 65-26 winner over the Eagle's View Warriors when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Aucilla Christian was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 45-44 to the Warriors.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Emerick, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Emerick scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Riley Rutledge, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Leading Eagle's View to victory were Jayda Parker and Kennedy Jones. Parker scored ten points, while Jones scored 16 points along with three steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.
Aucilla Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Eagle's View, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
Aucilla Christian will take on the Tiger Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Port St. Joe is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Eagle's View, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Countryside Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
