Baseball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lake Highland Prep put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks by a score of 10-7. That's more bragging rights for the Highlanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alec Ochipinti made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ochipinti was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Manny Socarras and Ari Lanxner did most of the damage at the plate: Socarras went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Lanxner went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lanxner has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lake Highland Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cornerstone Charter Academy only posted a batting average of .161.

Lake Highland Prep's record is now 3-0. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lake Highland Prep will face off against Edgewater at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will take on Cypress Creek at 6:30 p.m. on the 19th.
