Basketball Game Preview: Impact Christian Academy Lions vs. Duval Charter Panthers

Impact Christian Academy has gone 4-0 against Duval Charter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Impact Christian Academy Lions duke it out with the Duval Charter Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Impact Christian Academy came up short against Eagle's View and fell 37-26. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Warriors are ranked 147th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Lavin Savage, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last 29 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta?Karie Powell, who had seven points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Duval Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Harvest Community 45-8.

This is the second loss in a row for Impact Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Duval Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Impact Christian Academy against Duval Charter when the teams last played back in November, as the team secured a 52-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Impact Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
