Soccer Recap: Goose Creek Comes Up Short

Goose Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Berkeley Stags who were credited with the win. The Berkeley Stags got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Goose Creek Gators' two. Goose Creek were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Berkeley earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Goose Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Berkeley, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-9-1.

Goose Creek will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lucy Beckham at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. Berkeley also won't see the pitch for a while: their next match is against Wando at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. Wando will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Berkeley surely won't give up without a fight.
