League recap: Lake Stevens tops Edmonds-Woodway to extend winning streak

Lake Stevens extended the longest winning streak in 4A Wesco - North this week by beating Edmonds-Woodway, 53-49. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Vikings.

Mount Vernon took down Jackson 52-32 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tristan Brock threw for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns, ran for 109 yards and caught 1 pass for 16 yards during the win.

The Bulldogs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Brandon Hayman contributed 215 yards. Robert Monroe helped Mount Vernon's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 22 yards.

Mount Vernon's dynamic duo of Brock and Melvin Walser proved tough for the Timberwolves to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Monroe helped Mount Vernon's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 22 yards.

Hayman was a force in the backfield as Jay Silver's team defeated Jackson.

Lake Stevens' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jacob Eason has thrown for 2,041 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Gavin O'Neil has 38 catches for 585 yards.

Snohomish made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,696 from 7,251. The improvement was the result of a 35-34 victory over Mariner last week.
