Baseball Game Preview: Santa Fe Demons vs. St. Michael's Horsemen

Santa Fe has gone 9-1 against St. Michael recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Santa Fe will host St. Michael's at 12:00 p.m. St. Michael's took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Santa Fe, who comes in off a win.

Santa Fe is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Espanola Valley get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Demons considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Darrell Carbajal was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Tokoroyoma, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Santa Fe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, St. Michael's came up short against East Mountain on Thursday, falling 8-2.

St. Michael's saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Bird, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Santa Fe pushed their record up to 4-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11 hits in those games compared to only 4.67 in the others. As for St. Michael's, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
