Softball Recap: Monroe County Takes a Loss

Monroe County fell victim to Excel and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Excel Panthers, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Monroe County dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Excel, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Monroe County Tigers challenge Excel Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Excel, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-2 defeat against Blacksher on the 13th.
