Even if things were shuffled around here and there, the power rankings for this week won't seem too unfamiliar if you've been following along. Don't let that fool you into thinking nothing interesting happened, though. Among the action were the efforts of Fergus's senior Mitchell Norslien, an offensive menace who scored seven total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Hamilton managed to bank 369 more yards than its opponent Beaverhead County last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Everything went Hamilton's way against Beaverhead County as it secured a 40 - 0 win. Hamilton did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. Junior Carson Rostad was a key playmaker for Hamilton. One of the top players in the power rankings for the week, he rushed for 144 yards and threw for four touchdowns.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Billings Central Catholic (1st in the power rankings) and Laurel (13th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Billings Central Catholic blew past Laurel 35 - 6. One of the main ringleaders for Billings Central Catholic was senior Jack Studer, who rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Flathead offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Hellgate, finishing up at 62 - 23. At 39 points, that marked Flathead's largest margin of victory so far this year. At 85 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Broadwater (21st in the power rankings) and Bigfork (7th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
