Baseball Recap: Northern Durham Takes a Loss

Northern Durham and Voyager Academy pushed the score to 15-12 the last time they played Voyager Academy, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Knights fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

J.P. Rodio put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Rodio was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

With the loss, Northern Durham broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6. As for Voyager Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Northern Durham is on the road again on Wednesday to play Green Level at 1:00 p.m. The Knights are facing the Gators at the right time seeing as the Gators are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Voyager Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Rolesville on the 1st.
