Basketball Game Preview: Girard Trojans vs. Anderson County Bulldogs

The Girard Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Anderson County Bulldogs on Friday. Anderson County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Girard, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Girard humbled Galena with a 59-26 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Anderson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 47-33 to Burlington, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Wildcats are ranked 95th).

Girard's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Anderson County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Girard came up short against Anderson County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 48-40. Can Girard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
