Basketball Recap: Rebekah Huillet's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Lake over Largo

East Lake lost against Largo back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The East Lake Eagles fell to the Largo Packers 59-53.

East Lake lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rebekah Huillet, who posted eight points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Wall, who earned 11 points.

Ana Leka had an outrageously good game for Largo as she went 7 of 8 on her way to 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Laiana McClinton was another key player, going 7 for 8 on her way to 14 points and five boards.

East Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Largo, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

East Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-39 loss against Gulf on the 4th. As for Largo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-25 defeat against Calvary Christian on the 5th.
