Preview: Medina/Webber vs. Alden

Alden squares off against Medina/Webber this Thursday at 6:30 PM. Neither team wants a repeat from last game, where each was handed a considerable defeat.

After flying high the game before (34 points), Alden faltered in its previous match. It had a lot of difficulties with Iroquois last game and took a hard 36 - 7 hit. The offensive line was plagued by an aggressive Iroquois defense that sacked the quarterback four times.

As for Medina/Webber, last game was the first rocky defensive outing for it this year. It suffered a grim 51 - 22 defeat to Albion last week. The loss shouldn't obscure the performances of junior Izaiah Rhim and junior William Braswell, though; the former ran for 87 yards and also punched in two touchdowns, and the latter earned one touchdown and 124 yards rushing the ball. Rhim has been a consistent playmaker for Medina/Webber as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.

After their losses, Alden dropped to 2-5 and Medina/Webber dropped to 4-3. Both Alden and Medina/Webber have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 38 points per game, the latter an average of 30 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
