Softball Recap: Hardee Takes a Loss

Hardee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-5 to the Lemon Bay Manta Rays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Manta Rays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 back in February.

Sugar Blas was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Elida Ramirez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Hardee's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lemon Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hardee will square off against Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lemon Bay, they will face off against Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Manta Rays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Seminoles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
