Basketball Recap: Big Spring Takes a Loss

Big Spring lost against Estacado on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Big Spring Steers were dealt a 74-41 defeat at the hands of the Estacado Matadors. While losing is never fun, the Steers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 863rd, while the Matadors are ranked 206th).

Big Spring has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Estacado, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Spring will take on Snyder at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Estacado, they will host Levelland at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
