Football Recap: Alonso Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Alonso had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Steinbrenner Warriors on Thursday as they made off with a 27-6 victory. Considering the Ravens have won 14 contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Gabby Werr and Raya Deane both made on the match. Werr threw for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Deane gained 64 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, Deane racked up 175 passer rating, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

The win (which was Alonso's fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.4 points on average over those games. As for Steinbrenner, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Alonso will be playing at home against Palmetto at 8:30 p.m. on the 9th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Ravens 5.8, the Panthers 6.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Steinbrenner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
