Recap: Regents Knights vs. O'Connor Panthers
On Thursday, Regents came up short against O'Connor and fell 59-52. While losing is never fun, Regents can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while O'Connor is ranked 153rd).
Leading O'Connor to victory were Braylen Mcmillen and Julian Barron. Mcmillen scored 11 points along with 6 steals, while Barron scored 15 points along with 3 blocks. The contest was Barron's third in a row with at least ten points. Evan Herrera was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Regents' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for O'Connor, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Regents will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Country Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. O'Connor will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against New Braunfels at 1:30 p.m. on December 8th. New Braunfels knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matches -- so hopefully O'Connor likes a good challenge.
