East Lincoln has gone a perfect 7-0 against West Iredell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. East Lincoln's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so West Iredell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for East Lincoln's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Rutherford on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, West Iredell didn't have quite enough to beat East Lincoln on Tuesday and fell 11-10. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost seven in a row.

West Iredell got a good showing from Freeman Wallace, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Wallace has allowed since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, Trae Clyburn led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double. Damien Sharpe was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

East Lincoln's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for West Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

East Lincoln skirted past West Iredell 11-10 in their previous meeting on Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
