Basketball Recap: Apex Falls to Fuquay - Varina in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Apex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Fuquay - Varina Bengals 64-35 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Pease, who posted ten points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella DeGrow, who scored nine points.

Fuquay - Varina's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan Lindholm, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 20 points. Abigail Meaney was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Apex has already played their next contest, a 46-44 win against Cary on the 19th. As for Fuquay - Varina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-44 defeat against Willow Spring on the 21st.
