Basketball Game Preview: Atmore Christian Rams vs. Aletheia Christian Academy Lions

The Atmore Christian Rams will square off against the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Atmore Christian hasn't scored more than 21 points for seven games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Last Tuesday, Atmore Christian was beaten by Central Christian 69-11. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Saints are ranked 202nd).

Meanwhile, Aletheia Christian Academy hadn't done well against Gulf Pointe Latin recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Aletheia Christian Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gulf Pointe Latin 36-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since January 18, 2024.

Aletheia Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.5 points per game. As for Atmore Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Atmore Christian took a serious blow against Aletheia Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 59-1. Can Atmore Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
