Softball Recap: Enloe Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wakefield, Enloe was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders by a score of 7-2. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Avery Modlin was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Haga, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Lilly Watson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Enloe pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.75 hits in those games compared to only five in the others. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their record now sits at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Enloe will square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will head out to square off against Garner at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cardinal Gibbons is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
