Basketball Recap: Anjali Nonnarath's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chavez over Bear Creek

Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Bear Creek Bruins, falling 54-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Titans have suffered against the Bruins since April 30, 2021.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anjali Nonnarath, who posted seven points and five steals. Those five steals gave Nonnarath a new career-high. Thaliyah Ramirez was another key player, putting up two points and four blocks.

Chavez's record now sits at 3-21. As for Bear Creek, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.

Chavez has already played their next match (against Tokay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bear Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-20 loss against Tracy on the 25th.
