Softball Recap: Shikellamy Comes Up Short

Shikellamy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the South Williamsport Mountaineers, falling 11-1. If the Braves were looking for revenge after losing 14-3 to the Mountaineers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gweneth Wiest made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Shikellamy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for South Williamsport, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Shikellamy will take on Halifax at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for South Williamsport, they will face off against Central Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
