Volleyball Recap: Holy Name Green Wave vs. Norton Panthers

With a playoff game on the line, Holy Name rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Norton Panthers. The victory was nothing new for the Green Wave as they're now sitting on four straight.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 19-25, 25-18.

Holy Name found their leader in sophomore Hayden Wells, who had 25 digs and two aces. Wells is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Jurec, who had seven digs and two aces.

Norton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Martell, who had nine digs.

Holy Name's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-16. As for Norton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-4.

Holy Name has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Marlington on the 2nd. Norton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
