Baseball Recap: Bountiful Comes Up Short

Bountiful lost against Viewmont on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The RedHawks fell 5-1 to the Vikings. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Cash Stump put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Stump was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Stump wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyson Burningham, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Bountiful now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Viewmont, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bountiful will square off against rival Woods Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Viewmont is set to challenge their familiar foe Roy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
