Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Riverdale

Riverdale entered their tilt with Hall on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brie DeBlaey made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeBlaey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Riverdale got a massive performance out of Breckin DeLaRosa, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI DeLaRosa has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Dalaska, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Riverdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hall only posted an OBP of .150.

Riverdale's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Riverdale will head out on the road to challenge Mercer County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3, the Golden Eagles 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
