Stroudsburg has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pleasant Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Mountaineers will challenge the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Stroudsburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Pleasant Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Things were looking good for Stroudsburg after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Emmaus by a score of 3-2. The Mountaineers have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Stroudsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Fagan-Huse, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Another was Elizabeth Molinaro, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley got the win against Pocono Mountain West last Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Bears have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kailyn Getz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Getz was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianca Pridham, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovie Valenzuela, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Pleasant Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Stroudsburg, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-2.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stroudsburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Pleasant Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
