Baseball Recap: Van Bulldogs vs. Calhoun Red Devils

Van extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 25 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-17 in the process. They came up short against the Calhoun Red Devils, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-1 back in March.

Easton Moore and Cade Price did some serious damage despite the final result: Moore got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Price went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Calhoun, they moved to 8-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Calhoun's side, Chase Schoolcraft made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Schoolcraft a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
