League recap: Ridgefield Memorial and New Milford to meet this week in 1 vs. 2 battle

On Friday, the top two teams in the current league standings will go head to head, as Ridgefield Memorial and New Milford meet. The Royals currently hold a 0.5-game lead over the Knights for first place.

Connor Walsh was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .875 average with five RBIs. Waldwick compiled a record of 2-1 in that time.

The Warriors boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. On the season, Waldwick has allowed just 137 hits, while striking out 92 batters. John Simeone leads Waldwick with 35 strikeouts in 33 innings.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Simeone, who turned in eight Ks for the Warriors. He's first in the league with 35 total strikeouts.



Waldwick's Walsh led the league with seven hits this week. His 30 hits for the year are first in the league, and he boasts a .517 batting average.
