They put the hurt on the Bulls with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Greenwave, who have now won 14 matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Janessa Bettencourt made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Dana Buckmaster was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Taraylynn Vershum, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Churchill County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sports Leadership & Management only managed two hits.
Churchill County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fernley, their record is now 29-10.
