Baseball Recap: Carlsbad Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Carlsbad hadn't done well against La Costa Canyon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Lancers walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Mavericks. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Mavericks on Monday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Ian Fisher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Rob Bering was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Ward, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Carlsbad's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for La Costa Canyon, their record is now 10-8.

Carlsbad will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mavericks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
