Softball Game Preview: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Ridge View Blazers

For the second straight game, Lugoff-Elgin will face off against Ridge View. The Demons will welcome the Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lugoff-Elgin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Lugoff-Elgin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Ridge View get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Haleigh Miranda made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last seven contests. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Izzy Brown was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last nine matchups. Another player making a difference was Ella Sheorn, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Lugoff-Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridge View didn't got any hits.

Lugoff-Elgin's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Ridge View, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
