Volleyball Recap: Bayfield Finds Playoff Glory Versus St. Mary's Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bayfield had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the St. Mary's Academy Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-18, 25-15.

Lauren Rich was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Player #8 also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Bayfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.

Bayfield's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for St. Mary's Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Bayfield and St. Mary's Academy will both be playing Peak to Peak the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Pumas at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
